# Hearts or Bars

You can choose between displaying hearts or bars.

Vitalo has 2 health types: <mark style="color:red;">hearts</mark> and <mark style="color:red;">bars</mark>. You can choose between the two at will, depending on personal preference.

## Bars

Health bars in Vitalo are completely customizable. From the color to the size, everything is configurable through the config or the provided resource pack. Learn how to customize them [here](/vitalo/customization/health-bars.md).

## Hearts

Hearts in Vitalo are the other option for health. They function and look identical to vanilla hearts. Their color, size, and animation is customizable through the resource pack. Learn how to do that [here](/vitalo/customization/hearts.md).
